The full main line of Lunan High-speed Railway stretches 477 kilometers with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a total investment of approximately 72.5 billion yuan. The project was constructed in separate phases. The Qufu-Heze-Zhuangzhai section spans 199 kilometers and includes seven newly-built stations: South Qufu, East Jining, North Jining, North Jiaxiang, North Juye, East Heze and Zhuangzhai. As of now, Lunan High-speed Railway ranks as the railway project in Shandong Province with the longest construction mileage, largest investment scale, most complex construction conditions and the largest population benefited along the route.

During construction, efforts were made to build a high-quality, smart, eco-friendly and culture-rich high-speed railway. Taking station buildings as cultural carriers, the construction philosophy of "unique scenery, exclusive story and distinctive cultural symbol for every station" was upheld, integrating local cultural elements of regions along the line into station building design.

Tian Yuefeng cited examples to illustrate this concept. Heze is renowned as the City of Peonies, so its station adopts the theme "City of Peonies, Land of Vitality", with architectural inspirations drawn from flowing water and peonies to symbolize hospitality to visitors from all directions. Jining is the birthplace of Dongyi culture, Chinese civilization, Confucian culture, Water Margin culture and Grand Canal culture. North Jining Station is designed under the concept "Hometown of Sages, Capital of the Grand Canal". Its architectural shape derives from the Chinese character "Yun" (transportation/canal), paying tribute to the heritage of Grand Canal culture as well as the diligence and wisdom of ancient people.

These seven stations along the line enable passengers to experience the profound historical heritage of Qilu culture while upgrading the overall quality of station buildings on Lunan High-speed Railway.
