PetroChina Kunlun Gas Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Kunlun Gas) was incorporated on August 6, 2008 via restructuring and integration with the approval of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and verification by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. It was formed by PetroChina Natural Gas Pipeline Gas Investment Co., Ltd., the Gas Division of China Huayou Group, and PetroChina Gas Co., Ltd. Established to realize integrated upstream, midstream and downstream natural gas business, better fulfill corporate social responsibilities and serve the public, it is a specialized subsidiary of PetroChina focusing on urban gas operation. The company’s registered capital stands at RMB 6.06 billion.

Kunlun Gas’s core business scope covers urban gas pipeline network construction, urban gas transmission and distribution, sales of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), as well as after-sales services and other related operations. Its key responsibilities include drafting medium and long-term development plans for PetroChina’s urban gas business, participating in the unified coordination and allocation of urban gas resources, organizing market expansion for urban gas services, conducting capital operation and equity management of urban gas businesses, administering production and operation of urban gas projects, developing management specifications and standard systems for urban gas business, and carrying out quality, safety and environmental protection management for urban gas operations.

It vigorously expands urban gas markets along CNPC’s natural gas pipeline routes.
